What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is Japanese for The Universal Life Force Energy. This energy is believed to be the vital life force which flows through all living things and can be activated for a feeling of well-being.

The Reiki system was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui who was inspired by the ancient teachings. Dr. Usui’s traditional system is still used today and is passed down from Master to Student in the manner taught by Dr. Usui himself.

Reiki is not a faith system and is most beneficial if you are open to it.

Reiki is a non-invasive therapy and may promote a feeling of wellbeing.

During a typical session you may either lie on a bed or sit in a chair, the main point being that you are comfortable and relaxed. With your permission, Julie will then place her hands in various positions to cover virtually the whole body. If you prefer, she can work without touching your physical body or you may receive distance healing.
